Course Introduction 20 Century Western literary theories ushered in a golden opportunity for prosperity and development. Whether scientism literary theories (Formalism, New Criticism, Structuralism, Deconstruction) or humanism literary theories (Psychoanalysis, Archetypal Criticism, Stream of Consciousness, Existentialism, Frankfurt School, Feminism, New Historicism, Post-colonialism), provide us with valuable resources, which are engaged in the research of contemporary literature. The course will take the form of theoretical topics teaching, original theories reading, and literature cases discussing to cultivate students an ability to analyze literature texts and cultural phenomena with appropriate literary theories. | |||
