Course Introduction Folklore is a human science which helps people understanding history and culture, transforming the reality of social life. The main contents of this course include exploring and interpreting the theory and techniques of folk things, studying and narrative of folk history and folklore history, as while as the folklore methodology and discussing the theory and technology in Collecting and preserving folklore data. Folklore is a living culture created, enjoyed and inherited by the majority of people in a country or nation, which is all-inclusive and colorful. Folklore is an important part of folk culture which is considered as the mother culture of Chinese traditional culture with primitiveness and grass roots. Folk art is an important research matter in folklore, which contains a strong cultural tradition, plays an irreplaceable role in the daily lives, Festivals, life rituals and folk belief activities such as the material productive labor, food, clothing and so on. Understanding of folklore, especially of the basic things like folk art and aesthetic features, has a negligible effect in improving the level of art theory and practice ability. | |||
