TJU Syllabus for Aesthetics

1. Course Description

Aesthetics is an optional course for all major students and a professional fundamental course for Chinese language and literature students. In today's world, material civilization and spiritual civilization has highly developed. Humans are eager to advocate, to pursue and to create beauty everyday. Lacking of understanding or pursuing beauty is not a perfect life. Therefore, aesthetic education has become an indispensable part for life completion. The purpose and mission of Aesthetics is to require students to understand the nature of beauty and demarcate transformation rules, and to improve the ability of understanding beauty and creating beauty.

2. Requirements

Teaching basic requirements (students are required to understand and grasp the following content)

Ⅰ. Understand the beauty and ugliness, the good and the evil of the four basic meaning, and know the dialectical relations between each other. Grasp the nature of beauty, the basic law, the basic contradiction, the content and the form etc.
