1. Introduction to Major

To develop a humane atmosphere,Tianjin University invited Mr Feng Jicai, who is the famous writer, artist and cultural scholar, to establish the Feng Jicai Research Institute of Arts and Literature and to serve as the president of the institute. Due to the valuable academic resources of the New Era Chinese Literature, we set the discipline of Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature and enroll the post-graduate. On the basis of the characteristic method, the oral history, we find the way to return to the place where the practice of contemporary literary discourse happened.

2. Objectives

We develop the professionals with rigorous academic attitude and full of enthusiasm for the contemporary literary studies. We also develop the all-round person with broad academic perspective, independent thinking, innovation and practical ability.

3. Duration

According to school’s regulations, the full-time post-graduate, who has participated in the national unified entrance examination, must spend two years to obtain the master's degree in general. One year for the study of the degree courses (including social practice and teaching practice), another year for the dissertation writing, which is not less than one year (both can be cross-conducted).

4. Courses and Credits

Student must complete a total of no less than 27 credit points, in which at least 14 cpts are core courses, at least 3 cpts compulsory courses, and at least 10 cpts electives.
