Delegation from Senegal’s Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar Visits the School of Foreign Languages and the Institute for Global South Studies

On September 22, 2025, a delegation from Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar visited the School of Foreign Languages and the Institute for Global South Institute at Tianjin University for academic exchange activities. The delegation included Honorary President Amadou Ali Mbaye and Professor Willy Charles Kimzap Knu, among others. The delegation first toured the School of Foreign Languages and held talks with Zhang Wenli, Party Secretary of the School, Dean Wang Lisong, Vice Dean Xiao Zhenfeng, and other representatives.

At the meeting, Zhang Wenli delivered a welcome speech, followed by remarks from Honorary President Mbaye. Dean Wang Lisong then gave a special presentation on the development and achievements of the School of Foreign Languages and the Global South Institute, while Professor Knu presented a report on vocational education in Francophone African countries.

After the exchange activities, the delegation visited the Large-scale Earthquake Engineering Simulation Facility and the university library, and experienced Chinese calligraphy on the Peiyangyuan Campus. Relevant officials from the Tianjin Federation of Social Sciences also participated in the exchanges.

The visit not only deepened the friendship between Tianjin University and Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar, but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation. As key participants in this exchange, the School of Foreign Languages and the Global South Institute remain committed to promoting friendly cooperation and academic exchange between China and African countries and jointly advancing sustainable development in the Global South.
