SFL Held a Mobilization Meeting for the campaign of Studying and Implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the First Theoretical Guidance Report

On the afternoon of April 14th, the School of Foreign Languages held a mobilization meeting for launching the campaign of studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The meeting studied in depth the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the key meeting to launch this campaign, and earnestly implemented the principles and work arrangements of the school's mobilization meeting for this campaign. Zhang Lei, Deputy Director of the Office of the Leading Group for the Campaign, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Ma Xiaobao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Languages, presided over the meeting and delivered a mobilization speech. The school’s leadership team, Party committee members, Party branch secretaries and members, organizers, counselors, and administrative Party members all attended the meeting. Besides, all faculty and student Party members participated in the meeting online through Tencent Meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Ma Xiaobao studied the requirements of the Central Committee and the university's Party Committee on this campaign together with the participants, and introduced the school’s arrangements. He stressed that the CPC had decided to focus on leading cadres at and above the county level this year to carry out in-depth study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in the Party. This was a major deployment made by the CPC to comprehensively implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and mobilize all Party members to unite and struggle to accomplish the central tasks of the Party and was also an important measure to deepen the Party building in the new era. Conscientiously implementing the CPC's decision-making and deployment and solidly carrying out this campaign is a major political task for the school in the current and future periods. Besides, it is also a political test for our grassroots Party organizations and the majority of Party members, cadres, and students to firmly support the "Two Affirmations" and resolutely maintain the "Two Upholds". The Party Committee of the School would resolutely implement those decisions and deployments, conscientiously put into practice the general requirements of "learning ideas, strengthening Party spirit, emphasizing practice, and building new achievements", adhere to the fundamental task of integrating learning, thinking and application, and unifying knowledge, faith, and action, and solidly promote various works of the campaign. Accordingly, Mr. Ma Xiaobao proposed three proposals on carrying out the campaign in the school: first, to fully recognized the significance; second, to comprehensively and accurately grasp the target requirements; third, to emphasize work implementation so as to ensure a high-quality effect.

In her speech, Ms. Zhang Lei pointed out that it was necessary to effectively improve political stance, deeply understand and master the great political, theoretical, and practical significance of carrying out this campaign, and truly unify thoughts and actions to the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the key conference of launching this campaign and the decision-making arrangements of the CPC. With a high degree of political consciousness, full political enthusiasm, and a serious political attitude, all of us should actively engage in the campaign to yield actual results. Also, it was necessary to accurately grasp the four overall requirements and the profound connotations of the five objectives, carefully analyze the specific performance of oneself in the six aspects, adequately grasp the basic requirements in terms of politics, ideology, style, ability, and integrity, and combine the campaign with the actual situation of the school to timely correct deviations in the process of formulating measures and promoting implementation, thus ensuring the campaign properly implemented. Meanwhile, it was necessary to integrate theoretical learning, investigation and research, promoting development, reviewing and rectifying, and establishing systems, and make them in an organic and integrated manner, which could enable every move more solid and properer. And most importantly, it was necessary to tighten and solidify work responsibilities, and it was hoped that the School Party Committee attached high priority to it. The Party Secretary of the organization should shoulder political responsibilities firmly, do well in overall planning, coordinate and promote the learning of the leadership team, faculty and students, Party branches, and Party members, and advance related tasks such as theoretical learning, investigation and research, and promoting the implementation of inspection and rectification. What’s more, the Secretary should design work carriers, broaden the scope of publicity and guidance, and put a new premium on task organization and implementation, so as to resolutely prevent formalities for formalities' sake and ensure that the overall requirements and specific objectives are achieved.

After the meeting, Professor Liu Zhou from the School of Marxism gave a special feature lecture entitled "The Triple Logic of History, Theory, and Practice of Chinese Socialist Modernization". The lecture guided teachers, students, and Party members to deeply understand the profound connotations of the theory of Chinese Socialist Modernization from four aspects: "Introduction to Learning Chinese Socialist Modernization", "Historical Logic of Chinese Socialist Modernization", "Theoretical Logic of Chinese Socialist Modernization", and "Practical Logic of Chinese Socialist Modernization". The lecture was rich in content, practical, and easy to understand, and played a good guiding role in the study and implementation of the campaign.

Therefore, the SFL Party Committee will further improve the implementation plan of this campaign, combine the implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Party, the deployment of the 11th Party Congress of the University, and the development of the school's cause of education. In this context, the Party Committee must take this campaign as an opportunity to promote the high-quality development.
