Delegation from the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures, Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao Visits Our School

On March 12, a delegation from the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures, Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao, led by Dean Zhao Yurong and Vice Deans Liu Tian and Zhang Tuo, visited our School of Foreign Languages. They were accompanied by Mr. Fu Qiang, General Manager of Beijing Global Yutong Education Technology Co., Ltd. Our School was represented by Dean Wang Lisong, Assistant Deans Gou Yanjun and Yin Shiyu, Ma Jie, Assistant to the Dean of the Global South Research Institute, and Li Junkai, Director of the French-speaking Countries Research Center and Party Branch Secretary of the Multilingual Teaching Department.

Dean Wang Lisong extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation. He introduced the School’s development, emphasizing our initiatives and experiences in Country and Area Studies discipline construction, the Global South Research Institute platform, and Think Tank development.

Dean Zhao Yurong presented the development achievements of the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures, Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao, noting that Tianjin University’s innovative and effective measures in Country and Area Studies serve as an exemplary model.

During the exchange, participants held in-depth discussions on the strategic transformation of foreign language disciplines in the new era and the construction of area-focused research platforms.

Both schools agreed to use this visit as an opportunity to deepen practical cooperation, pool development efforts, and jointly promote the high-quality development of discipline construction, while enhancing social service efficiency.

Prior to the meeting, the delegation conducted an on-site visit of our School and the Global South Research Institute.
