Multilingual Public Opinion Big Data and Intelligent Translation Center

Upholding China's stance and embracing a global perspective, the Multilingual Public Opinion Big Data and Intelligent Translation Center under Institute for Global South Studies of Tianjin University carries out real-time monitoring of political, economic, social developments and hotspots in key countries and regions of the Global South. By virtue of artificial intelligence and big data technologies, the Center constructs a cross-lingual public opinion analysis and intelligent translation service system, aiming to establish a nationally leading strategic think tank and technological engine for public opinion research and judgment and language services concerning the Global South.

Empowering area studies and focusing on intelligent technology strategies, this platform integrates “multi-source public opinion collection, data retrieval, knowledge construction and intelligent research.” The platform achieves automated collection and intelligent cleaning of public opinion across hundreds of languages and multiple data sources, supports hot topic tracking and trend prediction, and constructs a Global South thematic knowledge base. Additionally, it utilizes large language models such as DeepSeek to enable intelligent dialogue with the knowledge base and agent-generated reports, realizing human-machine synergy to drive the high-quality development of area studies.
