Rooted in the needs of cultural exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between China and Francophone countries, the Center for Francophone Studies focuses on multi-dimensional fields including politics, economy, culture, education and social development in France, Francophone African countries, the Indochinese Peninsula and Quebec, Canada and so on. It also explores their development path, cultural interactions and sci-tech cooperation amid the process of globalization. Relying on the comprehensive interdisciplinary advantages and profound academic accumulation in humanities and social sciences of Tianjin University, the Center commits itself to in-depth research on cutting-edge fields like language policy, sustainable development and South-South cooperation. Through international academic dialogues, joint research projects and cultural exchange activities, the Center constructs a solid bridge for mutual cognition between China and the Francophone world, aiming to serve the Belt and Road Initiative and the construction of the China-Africa community with a shared future, and further contribute to the innovation and practice of the Global South knowledge system.
