Teaching method

The class adopts lecturing, discussing, practicing and other methods teaching students. Lecturing uses 12 semester hours. Discussing and practicing uses 20 semester hours.

Course Introduction

Second Language Teaching is a core course for students who are majored in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. Through the course, students will gain a better understanding of Second Language Teaching’s(mainly refers to Chinese as a second language teaching) nature, characteristics, teaching process and in the teaching process each teaching link’s. And improve the knowledge of Chinese as a second language teaching’s regularity, scientificity and standardization. Through the practicing of second language teaching rich students’ practical experience.

The course contents include three aspects: theory teaching, literature reading and skills practicing. Theory teaching is to introduce the theory system of the second language teaching discipline, and the new concept and new theory of second language teaching abroad. Literature reading is to guide students to read the important literature, including works at home and abroad about related disciplines. Skills practicing is to make students combine theory study with a certain time of teaching Chinese as a foreign language activities, rich their practical experience, and expand their academic horizons.

The teaching content mainly include: 1. The properties and characteristics of teaching Chinese as a foreign language discipline. 2. The basic theory of teaching Chinese as a foreign language discipline. 3. The theory and method of teaching Chinese as a foreign language teaching. 4. The overall design of the teaching Chinese as a foreign language. 5. The classroom teaching and the application of modern technology of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. 6. The textbook compilation of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
