From the Global South perspective, the Center of East Asian Studies focuses on interdisciplinary research in East Asian regional governance, cultural education and cooperative development. Its research covers major East Asian countries’ Global South diplomatic strategies, East Asian regional literary comparisons, Japanese modern history, language-cultural studies within the Chinese Character Cultural Circle, historical comparative research on East Asian etymology, and precise international communication of fine traditional Chinese culture. The Center aims to build an open and shared multilingual resource database, foster integrated talents proficient in East Asian national conditions and global governance, establishing a domestically leading and internationally renowned high-end think tank specialized in East Asian studies. It will continuously provide Tianjin University’s insights and academic support for deepening the mutual trust and cooperation between China and East Asian countries of the Global South. |
